Start of our U.K. coastal tour

We have been asked for our itinery, so I’ve posted it here.

Off we go!

9 months after leaving home, we finally started our tour of the U.K. coast on Saturday 28th April.

(For anyone who’s thinking about housesitting, or just wants to hear more about it, I’ll write a summary of that experience)

To kickstart the tour, we’ve booked 5 days at Haltwhistle walking festival and have been out tramping the cold but very beautiful Northumberland countryside, full of roman ruins, baby lambs and daffodils. Newcastle is the nearest  city, it’s small, friendly and has a good beer festival, curry house and cute independent cinema – we’ve tried them all!

Norway!

I had a little break in Norway to mark the end of the housesitting and the start of the touring, courtesy of my lovely girl, so we’re all set up and raring to go.

Next stop is the Morpeth to Berwick coastline, taking in Holy Island, Seahouses, Bamburgh castle and hopefully walking/cycling the NorthEast Coastal path. Foot’s still mangled so on the hard drugs most days.
